FAQs

Who is this for?

Mentoring is for anyone who wants support, advice, or just someone to talk things through with, whether you’re dealing with school, life changes, big decisions, or just want a bit of extra encouragement. If you’re curious or feel like you could use someone in your corner, mentoring is for you.

Nope! Mentoring is quite different. Your mentor isn’t there to teach you schoolwork or dig into your past. Instead, they’re someone a bit older who’s been through similar things and can help you talk things through, figure stuff out, and look ahead. It’s about support, not lessons or therapy and you’ll walk away with new skills and ways to face whatever comes next.

We recommend starting off with 6 sessions, so you have time to get to know your mentor and see real progress. After that, there’s no limit! You can keep going for as long as it feels helpful to you.

Absolutely. Just drop us a quick message and we can have a chat about what you need, whether that’s pausing, stopping, or figuring out what works best for you. You’re always in control of your mentoring journey.

That’s totally normal a lot of people feel that way at first! You don’t need to have a plan or a list. Your mentor will help you get started, and you can talk about anything on your mind, big or small. The conversation will naturally head in whatever direction is most useful for you, whether that’s sorting out a challenge, building confidence, or just having someone to listen.

Feeling nervous is completely normal, especially when you’re starting something new. You can take things at your own pace, there’s no rush or pressure. If you ever want to share how things are going, try something different, or even change mentors, just let us know. We’re here to listen and help make mentoring work for you.

Your sessions are private, what you talk about stays between you and your mentor, unless there’s a serious safety concern. If we ever need to share something to keep you safe, we’ll always talk to you first. Your school won’t be told, and you can talk openly about what matters to you.
